2× California State Champion · Fargo Champion · Super 32 Champion
NCAA All-American · Stanford University · Class of 2029
Angelo Joseph Posada is a true freshman at Stanford University competing at 197 pounds for the Stanford Cardinal — and already one of the most decorated wrestlers in the program's history.
"The second true freshman All-American in Stanford wrestling history."
A product of Poway High School in Poway, California, Angelo emerged as the nation's premier heavyweight prospect after back-to-back California State Championships, a Fargo National title, and a Super 32 crown — all before setting foot on the Farm.
In his freshman season he finished 6th at the NCAA Championships while leading the Cardinal with eight falls and posting a 20–8 overall record — a historic debut by any measure.
Off the mat, Angelo is the youngest of seven siblings in a tight-knit family — a foundation that fuels the grit and discipline he brings to every competition.
Angelo's freshman campaign was historic for Stanford wrestling. Competing at 197 pounds, he delivered eight falls — the most on the team — and posted bonus-point victories in 60% of his wins. A 5–2 decision over No. 8 Mac Stout sent him into the top 10 nationally, and he capped the season with All-American honors at the NCAA Championships, the rarest achievement a true freshman can earn.
